Women's Basketball Defeats Medgar Evers in CUNYAC Action

The women's basketball team recorded a 68-20 CUNYAC win against the Cougars of Medgar Evers College on Monday night in the ARC Arena.

The visiting Cougars scored the first two points but the Bearcats controlled the rest of the way for the home win in a contest that was rescheduled from January 14.

Three Bearcats reached double-figure scoring led by Mia Castillo (24 points, tied career-high 10 steals), Paige Traynor (16), and Elissa Leung (12 points, 6 assists).

D'Andre McRae grabbed 13 rebounds and Allison Altamirano came off the bench to grab 10 rebounds. 

Sheily Quezada recorded a double-double for the Cougars with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

The two teams will square off again on Wednesday at Medgar Evers College.
