Bearcats Rally Twice to Win Tough Battle Against John Jay; 2022 Squad Received Their Championship Rings

The men's volleyball recorded one of their toughest wins of the season defeating the Bloodhounds of John Jay College, 25-22, 29-27, 25-22, on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats trailed deeply in each of the second (21-15) and third (20-13) sets, but rallied all the way back to win the second (29-27) and third (25-22) for the exciting home sweep.

Five different players recorded at least six kills in the win with Andrew Ubanwa coming up big in the second set and Jack Centeno and Akil Vaughn leading the comeback in the third.

The Bearcats never game up this evening and battled until the last point to record their fifth straight win and improve to 9-1 in the CUNYAC standings.

Before the match, the athletic department honored the 2022 squad by presenting them with their CUNYAC championship rings. Head Coach Kevin Edwards, Stallone Shankar, Travis Goding  and Justin Iloulian were all in attendance to be honored in front of this year's team, their families, and the campus community.
