Men's Volleyball Advances to 17th Straight CUNYAC Championship Match, Sweep John Jay (3-0)

The men's volleyball team recorded a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-19, 25-14) of the Bloodhounds of John Jay College to advance to the CUNYAC championship match for the 17th straight season.

The Bearcats will play rival Hunter College for the CUNYAC title and NCAA automatic berth on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. at Hunter College.

Tickets are free but fans must register in advance. First come, first serve.

The Bearcats started strong hitting .360 in the first set and finished hitting .407 in the third for their 17th total win.

Haoxin Hu had a big match tallying 13 kills (.333), while Defeng Han dished out 28 assists and collected five digs.

Andrew Ubanwa (4 blocks), Akil Vaughn (4 blocks), and Michael Higgins (2 blocks) had six kills each in the team attack that finished hitting 367.

Jonathan Liao led with seven 7 digs, including several that kept important rallies going.

Logan Ramos led the visiting Bloodhounds with 8 kills and 4 digs.
