Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Wins CUNYAC Opener, Defeat York

The men's soccer team started their CUNYAC schedule with a 7-0 home win against the Cardinals of York College on Wednesday evening at Gaelic Park on the campus of Manhattan University in the Bronx.

The Bearcats took control early building a 5-0 halftime lead behind a 16-2 shot advantage en route to the victory.

Daniel Fomenko scored a brace with a goal in each half, while Esmin Vukovic, Alan Nikaj, Silver Jared Bijslma, Arman Celebi and Mohamed Nasr each scored once as the Bearcats finished with a 25-5 shot advantage.

Celebi added two assists in the victory. Vukovic and Bijslma also had an assist in addition to their goals.

Stanley Sanchez led the visiting Cardinals with two shots.

The Bearcats will resume their CUNYAC schedule on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. home contest against John Jay College at Field #70 on Randall's Island.
