Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Records 4th Straight Positive Result, Defeat Medgar Evers (2-0)

The men's soccer team defeated the Cougars of Medgar Evers 2-0 in a CUNYAC match played on Wednesday afternoon at Corona Park in Flushing Meadows, Queens.

The visiting Bearcats scored their two goals within the first five minutes of the match and the defense and goalkeeper Jon Legasa kept a clean sheet the rest of the way for the CUNYAC victory.

Matt Prusan started the scoring only 73 seconds into the match on an assist by Ammar Ahmedshaker.

Daniel Fomenko. the CUNYAC Honorable Mention Player of the Week, scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season on an assist from Arman Celebi that stood for the 2-0 shutout.

The Bearcats totaled 23 shots compared to 11 by the Cougars to improve their CUNYAC record to a first place tie with 2 wins and one draw.

The team will next play at the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on Saturday afternoon. 

NOTES: The Bearcats have posted four straight positive results (3 wins, 1 draw)...They have not allowed a goal in their three CUNYAC matches (270 minutes) thus far...Daniel Fomenko has scored six goals in his six matches played...Arman Celebi has totaled 4 goals and 4 assists for 12 points...The scoring this season has been spread out with 10 different players scoring at least one goal.
