Women's Swimming Collects More Weekly CUNYAC Honors

The women's swimming team continue their very successful season earning two more CUNYAC weekly honors for the period ending December 18.

Alexander Allyse and Ashley Leal repeated as weekly winners as the Bearcats finished their fall semester with a 64-30 CUNYAC win at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

The Bearcats are off to a 4-1 overall start this season and 1-0 in the CUNYAC.

After the Final Exam/Holiday break, the Bearcats will resume meet action with a CUNYAC meet at rival Hunter College on Monday, January 13, 2025.

CUNYAC Women's Swimming and Diving Swimmer of the Week
Allyse Alexander, Baruch
At the John Jay vs Baruch meet, Allyse was first in the 50 Yard Freestyle (25.42) posting the second fastest time of the season. She now holds the top 2 times this season in the 50 free. In the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:02.35) she won the event by 20 seconds. She was also part of the winning 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:51.28) in a 64-30 team win against John Jay.

CUNYAC Women's Swimming and Diving Rookie of the Week
Ashley Leal, Baruch
Ashley had a phenomenal performance at the ECAC Winter Championships against Division I and Division II teams. She swam her seasonal best times at this meet. Ashley was also a part of four scoring relays in the Finals - the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay that placed 13th with a time of 8:43.92, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay that placed 15th with a time of 3:48.48, the 200 Medley Relay that placed 16th with a time of 1:44.24 and the 400 Medley Relay that placed 17th with a time of 4:18.92.
