WBB Jumps Into CUNYAC Second Place Tie, Defeat Lehman (82-57)

The women's basketball team came away with an 82-57 victory at The APEX in the Bronx in a Friday evening CUNYAC matchup against the Lehman College Lightning. 
 
Tonight's win improves the Bearcats' CUNYAC record to 5-2 and extends their win streak to five games.
 
Lehman was up by as many as 11 points in the first quarter (17-6) and also led 17-11 at 9:14 of the second quarter. 
 
The Bearcats quickly turned the game around, going on a 22-10 run to enter halftime leading 33-27.
 
Lehman never regained the lead the rest of the game, but they did manage to tie the game at 35 apiece at 7:54 in the third quarter.

However, the Bearcats outscored them the rest of the way and built up their largest lead 82-55 with 0:46 left in the fourth quarter.
 
Mia Castillo scored 38 points shooting 51.8 percent (14-27 FG) and dished out seven assists. Elissa Leung tallied 16 points (4-9 3fg). 
 
Lola Idir had a near double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds and sank four three-pointers. D'Andre McRae had herself a near double-double with eight points and nine rebounds off the bench.
 
Precious Mitchell also grabbed six rebounds on the evening. 
 
Emily Kennedy scored 25 points for the home team Lightning. 
 
The next game is against Brooklyn College, which will be played at home in the ARC Arena on Tuesday, January 28, at 5:30 p.m.
