The men's soccer team posted a 1-0 CUNYAC victory on a rainy Saturday afternoon against John Jay College at Randall's Island Field 70.
The visiting Bearcats controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting the Bloodhounds 28-7, including a dominant 15-3 margin in the first half. Despite numerous chances, Baruch was unable to break through until the 84th minute (83:48), when Sardor Abidov capitalized on a loose clearance inside the box to score the game's only goal.
Rookie goalkeeper Dzmitry Piatrashka earned his second career clean sheet, recording four saves to preserve the shutout. Andreas Kotronis led the attack with seven shots, while Mitchel Frenkel added four in Baruch's season-high 28-shot performance.
John Jay was led by Eden Haftzadi, who tallied three shots off the bench.
The Bearcats will continue their CUNYAC schedule on Wednesday, October 15, with a 6:00 p.m. home contest against Medgar Evers College at SUNY Purchase.
