The women's volleyball team traveled to Abington, Pennsylvania, on Saturday to compete in a Tri-Match hosted by Penn State Abington.
The Bearcats opened strong, sweeping the University of Valley Forge from the United East Conference, 3–0 (25–16, 25–19, 25–12). Dibjot Kaur led the way with 11 kills, seven aces, and five digs. Alicia Graves added 10 kills and two solo blocks, while Karen Pozo Castro distributed 16 assists and Pei Qiong Ren collected 11 digs.
In the second match, Baruch faced the host Penn State Abington, also from the United East Conference, and dropped a competitive three-set contest, 23–25, 19–25, 18–25. Karolina Lundqvist paced the offense with 10 kills, and Pozo Castro tallied 24 assists. Defensively, three Bearcats reached double digits in digs — Qiong Ren (14), Pozo Castro (12), and Jennifer Dong (10).
The Bearcats will return to CUNYAC play on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. home match against York College.
