The women's tennis team advanced to its sixth consecutive CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championship Final after defeating Brooklyn College 4-1 in a semifinal match on Tuesday afternoon at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.
The Bearcats took early control by winning two of the three doubles matches to secure the opening team point. Aishika Yadav and Lucia Herranz Sanchez cruised to a 6-0 win at first doubles, while Maria Calvo Prado and Jacqueline Moreno followed with a 6-1 victory at second doubles.
Baruch carried that momentum into singles play and clinched the decisive fourth team point when Prado prevailed at third singles, 6-1, 6-3.
The Bearcats now advance to play Hunter College for the championship title on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The match will take place indoors at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens due to a wet weather forecast.
