The women's volleyball team delivered an impressive performance to defeat the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College, 3-1 (31-29, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21), in a CUNYAC home match on Tuesday night at the ARC Arena.
The Bearcats found themselves trailing 17-10 in the opening set but stormed back to win a thrilling extra-distance battle, 31-29. They carried that momentum into the second set, taking control early with a 16-10 lead before cruising to a 25-17 victory.
Brooklyn responded by taking the third set, 25-21, to stay alive, but the Bearcats sealed the match in the fourth. With the score tied at 15, Baruch finished strong down the stretch to secure the 25-21 set win and remain undefeated in CUNYAC play at 3-0.
It was a true team effort, highlighted by Dibjot Kaur, who had a stellar night with 20 kills, four aces, and 14 digs. Karolina Lundqvist tied a career-high with 13 kills, providing key points in crucial moments all night. Karen Pozo Castro, recently named CUNYAC Honorable Mention Player of the Week, continued her steady play with 35 assists and 15 digs.
Defensively, the Bearcats were solid throughout, with Pei Qiong Ren tallying 18 digs and Jennifer Dong contributing 11. The match was highly competitive, featuring 29 ties and 10 lead changes.
The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
