MVB Defeated at #4 Stevens (3-1)

The Bearcats traveled to Hoboken, New Jersey to play the #4-ranked Ducks from the Stevens Institute of Technlogy on Thursday night.

The squad was defeated in four sets (8-25, 21-25, 25-22, 18-25).

The Bearcats controlled early in the second set with as much as a seven point advantage (15-8) after a kill by Noah Pak that assisted by Ryan Oommen and two blocks by Ari Osmanaj.

The Ducks though battled back strong going on a points run to win 25-21.

In the third set, the Bearcats came out on top to win, 25-22. It was a close battle for most of the set, but the Bearcats obtained their biggest lead of seven points after a block by Zachary Yao and Peter Gavroff as well as a service ace by Noah Pak.

The Ducks managed to slice the lead to two (22-20), but two kills by Ari Osmanaj helped keep the Bearcats alive by winning the third set, 25-22.

The fourth set was close early 11-10, but the Ducks finished strong with another big points run to win 25-18 and win 3-1 overall.

Gavroff led with 17 kills. Pak was close behind with 14. Oommen dished out 32 assists on the night.

David Tang played great defense as he came away with 11 digs.

Ryan Schmid led the Ducks with 12 kills.
