Bearcats Fall in Home Semifinal

The Bearcats faced off in a CUNYAC Semifinal against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College in the ARC Arena. The Bearcats lost a tough contest 62-48.

In the first quarter, the squad trailed by as much as ten points (17-7) as Brooklyn jumped out to a big lead.

They came back in the second quarter outscoring the Brooklyn 11-9, holding them to just 29.4 percent (5-17 FG) shooting to trail at the half (28-21).

In the third quarter, the Bearcats came as close as three points (30-27).

A fast-break jumper by Elissa Leung assisted by Mia Castillo later at 7:10 in the fourth quarter cut the Brooklyn lead to just four (46-42)

The two teams kept battling but Brooklyn outscored the Bearcats 16-6 in the final six minutes to advance to Thursday's Championship.
 
Lola Idir led the team tonight with 16 points (5-9 3fg). Mia Castillo scored 15 points, six assists, and six steals.

Lillianna Morales grabbed 11 rebounds and D'Andre McRae had 10 rebounds.

Alina Estrella scored 16 points for the Brooklyn College Bulldogs.

The women's basketball team will await a potential invitation to play in the 2025 ECAC Division III Championship Post-Season Tournament that will begin on the weekend of March 8.
