Bearcats Sweep CCNY (25-15, 25-17, 25-4), CUNYAC Win Streak Reaches 32

The Bearcats took on the CCNY Beavers in a Tuesday CUNYAC match at home in the ARC Arena. The squad swept the Beavers 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-4)
 
With this victory, the squad now improves to a 12-7 overall record and a a perfect 11-0 CUNYAC record.
 
In the first set, the Beavers jumped off to a 4-1 start, but then the Bearcats went on a 7-2 run kick started by an opposing service error and a Peter Gavroff kill to take an 8-6 lead. The squad led the rest of the set.
 
The Bearcats led 14-9 and went on a 10-5 run to finish the set winning 25-15.
 
In set two, the squad got off to a 4-0 start, but the opposing CCNY Beavers went on a run of their own to close the gap at 5-4. The Bearcats stayed in front and went on a 6-2 run started on a kill by Charlie Nguyen.
 
The Bearcats had their largest lead of the set at 22-14 and went on to the third set victorious 25-17.
 
The squad started the third set with a bang, going on a grand 17-1 run, started by Gavroff's service ace which was one of his eight service aces of the set. The team won the set 25-4 and match.
 
Nana Boateng led the Beavers of CCNY with seven kills.
 
The next match up will be away against the John Jay Bloodhounds of CUNYAC on Thursday at 6 p.m.
