MVB Stay Undefeated in Conference, Sweep John Jay

The men's volleyball team overcame a tough first set to record a 3-0 CUNYAC victory at John Jay College on Thursday night.

The visiting Bearcats pounded out 40 total kills, compared to 35 by John Jay, to stretch their overall CUNYAC win streak to an impressive 33 in a row.

The Bearcats won the first set by scoring the last two points to break the tie and win, 26-24.

They found themselves in a tough battle again in the second set, with the score tied at 22. However, two kills by Peter Gavroff and an attack error by John Jay helped them win the second set, 25-22.

They controlled the action in the third set, limiting John Jay to nine kills, and they won the set 25-18, sweeping the match.
