Bridget Campanelli Reaches 100 Career Hits, Bearcats Split DH vs Rival Hunter

The Bearcats and rival Hunter College play to a doubleheader split on Friday afternoon at Randall's Island. 

Senior Bridget Campanelli made history during her first at-bat of game one, recording her 100th career hit. She is the 12th player in team history to accomplish 100 hits. 

Today's doubleheader was a tale of two different games.

Hunter won the first game by mercy rule, 13-5 in five innings. The Bearcats came back to win the second game in mercy rule, 11-2 in five innings.

The Bearcats started the first game strong with RBI singles by Mia Faddah and Campanelli, giving them an early 2-0 lead, but Hunter scored a run in the first inning, three runs in the second inning, and three more in the third to take control for the 13-5 victory. 

In the second game, Leilani Jimenez pitched a complete game, allowing only two earned runs and striking out six as the Bearcats won 11-2 in 5 innings. 

Campanelli had three hits, while Jules Wychunas and Leilani Jimenez had two hits each. The Bearcats broke open the game wide open in the third inning with nine runs on nine hits for the victory and a doubleheader split.
