The men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to the Pioneers of William Paterson on Wednesday night in non-conference action in Wayne, New Jersey.
The Bearcats held their own in the opening 45 minutes, as both sides went into halftime locked in a scoreless draw with five shots apiece.
The momentum shifted in the second half, however, with the home team out-shooting Baruch 16-4 and finding the back of the net twice. The Pioneers broke through in the 64th minute and sealed the match with a second goal in the 87th minute.
Diego Sachun and Ailey Dawson paced the Bearcats' attack with two shots each, while goalkeeper Dzmitry Piatrashka kept the visitors in the contest with an eight-save performance.
Matty Escobar led the Pioneers with five shots and one goal on the night.
The Bearcats will return to action next Wednesday, October 1, with a CUNYAC home contest against Brooklyn College. Kick off at the Met Oval in Maspeth is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
