The men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw against the Nazareth University Golden Flyers on Friday afternoon at the Potsdam College Cup in Potsdam, New York, located just miles from the Canadian border.
The match was a defensive battle, with Nazareth holding a 14-6 advantage in total shots, but the Bearcats held firm thanks to the strong play of goalkeeper Dzmitry Piatrashka. The rookie finished with six saves and was the hero of the match, making several timely stops to preserve the clean sheet.
On the offensive end, sophomore Andreas Kotronis led Baruch with a team-high three shots, as the Bearcats looked for opportunities against the Golden Flyers' defense. Nazareth's Zach Scott was their most dangerous attacker, firing four shots in the contest.
The Bearcats will continue play in the Potsdam College Cup as they take on host SUNY Potsdam on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
