MBB Loses to Brooklyn 75-63 in Second Half Rally

The men's basketball team battled the Brooklyn College Bulldogs in a CUNYAC showdown on Friday evening at home, where Brooklyn won in a second half comeback win.

The squad led by double-digits (19-9) on a made three-pointer by Peter Douvres.

Two three-pointers and a layup brought the visiting Bulldogs to within a single possession (19-17).

Despite the tenacious effort from the opponents, the Bearcats closed out the first half with a 38-26 advantage.

The second half showed a tail of two halves.

The squad's shots were falling during the opening minutes of the second half as they were up 49-38 with 15:52 on the clock.

The Bulldogs went on a 14-0 scoring run and took a 51-49 lead with 11:44 remaining.

Brooklyn managed to take their first multi-possession lead of the game (66-61) and went on to defeat the Bearcats at home (75-63).

Leyi Adebayo led the Bearcats this evening with a double-double of 20 points (5-8 FG, 9-10 FT) and 10 rebounds. Peter Douvres scored 13 points and Nicholas Lam had 12.

Joe Charles and D'Aze Hunter scored 21 points each for the visiting Bulldogs. 

The next matchup for the Bearcats squad will be a CUNYAC battle on the road against the Bloodhounds of John Jay College on Tuesday, February 3 at 8:00 p.m.
