The softball team earned a split in a Thursday afternoon doubleheader against New Jersey City University, rallying for a 5–4 win in the opener before falling 9–2 in the second game at NJCU. The games were played under sunny skies and warm 71-degree temperatures in Jersey City, marking Baruch's fourth doubleheader split of the season.
In game one, the Bearcats showed resilience, overcoming a one-run deficit late to secure the victory. Baruch trailed 3–2 after four innings before taking control with a three-run surge in the fifth. Ava Lavery delivered a key RBI single, and Leilani Jimenez later followed with an RBI single that drove in Mia Faddah. A NJCU fielding error allowed an additional run to score, giving Baruch a 5–3 advantage.
Reina Castro-Johnson was steady in the circle, earning her third win of the season with a complete-game effort. She recorded two strikeouts and worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the final inning to preserve the 5–4 win. Lavery led the offense with two RBI singles and two runs scored, while Jimenez and Grace Osuch each added an RBI single in the victory. Osuch also added a double.
The second game began promisingly for the Bearcats, who jumped out to an early 2–0 lead. Kaitlyn Belfield doubled down the left-field line to bring in the game's first run in the second inning as Jimenez scored, and Mina Barriga followed with a sacrifice fly RBI in the third, scoring Jules Wychunas. However, the Gothic Knights responded with three runs in the bottom of the third and broke the game open with five more in the fourth inning, maintaining control the rest of the way to earn a 9–2 win.
After a busy month of March, the Bearcats will enjoy a brief break in its schedule before returning to action on Wednesday, April 1, the first day of Baruch Spring Break. The Bearcats will open CUNYAC play with a doubleheader at York College beginning at 12:00 p.m.
