The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) hosted its annual basketball awards luncheon on Thursday afternoon at the Water Club in New York City.

The Bearcats won one major award, while two others were named All-Stars. All the awards are voted upon by each of the league’s nine head coaches.

The afternoon luncheon consisted of all-star players, award winners, VIPs from various schools and sponsors such as Con Edison, which is hosting the 47th Annual CUNYAC Basketball Championships that will begin this weekend with higher seeds hosting quarterfinal round games. (BARUCH SCHEDULE)

Jessica Duleba was named the CUNYAC Women’s Player of the Year. Duleba has averaged 14.1 points per game as the fourth best scorer in the CUNYAC. She has shot .800 from the free throw line in 25 regular season games and helped the team for the eighth straight year win the CUNYAC North Division Title.

For the second straight year, Folashade Akinde was named a CUNYAC Second Team All-Star. Akinde has produced another solid season with averages of 9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game in 25 regular season games.

Chris Beauchamp was the lone men’s honoree earning CUNYAC First Team Honors for the second straight year. Beauchamp has averaged 18.2 points per game and ranks sixth in CUNYAC scoring. He is currently only 34 points away from breaking the all-time Baruch men’s basketball scoring record of 1,549 held by Leonard Mitchell ’00.
