Nelson DiBastiano of the men's soccer team was voted by members of the athletic department as the Baruch Athlete of the Month for September 2007.


Nelson put together a dominant September with 113 total saves and played in every single soccer match during the busy month.

 

Against nationally-ranked #25 College of New Jersey, he notched eight saves and allowed only two goals in a respectable 2-0 neutral site loss at the Rowan University Harrison House Invitational.

 

He eventually recorded a career-high 17 saves against UMASS-Dartmouth in the M.C.L.A. Holiday Inn Tournament.


Nelson notched his first shutout of the season, versus Manhattanville, recording 17 saves again in an exciting double-overtime 1-0 victory.
