Freshman swimmer Julia Sung has been voted the Baruch Athlete of the Month for December 2010.
For the Month of December, Julia was undefeated in a dual meet against Division II Queens College and Adelphi University. She also broke several school records and was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week.
The monthly award is voted by the athletic department staff. For a complete list of Sung’s highlights, please read below.
** Named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week on December 6.
** As a member of the 200 medley relay team, she helped the team win first place against Div. 2 Queens and Adelphi in a dual meet (Dec. 9) with a time of 2:01.26
** Against Adelphi and Queens, she also finished first in the 200 free relay, and as a result, she broke the Baruch school and freshman record with a time of 2:06.36.
** Again against Adelphi and Queens, she finished first in the 100 back with a time of 1:04.71 to remain undefeated during December against individual teams.
** At the ECAC Winter Championships (Dec. 3-5), she helped lead the team to a fifth place finish in the 200 medley relay and set the Baruch school record in the event.
** At the ECAC Winter Championships, she also finished in fifth place in the 200 free, 14th place in the 100 back and 20th place in the 200 individual medley. Her times in the 100 back and 200 individual medley also broke Baruch school records.
