The Bearcats won their fifth straight game and their eighth in the last nine overall with a 71-53 non-conference road win on Tuesday night against the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Interestingly, for the fourth straight time in the annual game between these two regional schools, the visiting team won.

Sophomore Arki Wisnu (New York, N.Y./Newtown) led the Bearcats with a season-high 18 points in 18 minutes off the bench.

Freshman Sean Loftus (Queens, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) recorded a career-high 14 points (7-9, fg), while fellow freshman Tammer Farid (Woodside, N.Y./Stuyvesant) scored 11 points.

Sophomore George Kunkel (Glendale, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) led the Bearcats on the boards with 13 rebounds, as Baruch won the battle of the boards convincingly (46-32).

The young Bearcats also used tight defense to keep New Paltz from connecting on only one-of-nine 3-pointers in the game.

Lionel Hilaire (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) hit a jumper for a 20-18 lead with 6:58 left in the first half and that lead stood the rest of the game.
