The women's tennis team won a hard fought non-conference match against Farmingdale State University on Saturday afternoon in Farmingdale, New York.

The visiting Bearcats (4-1) won two of three doubles and three of six singles to capture the victory against their opponent from the Skyline Conference.

Irina Piskunova (Uzbekistan/H.S. #37), Mariam Mkrtchyan (Armenia/P.M. #1) and Shalanda Graham (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) were all victorious in their important single encounters.

Piskunova broke a 4-4 tie by winning her match to clinch the overall team victory.

The Bearcats will return to action this Tuesday with a conference road match against Hunter College. First serve at the U.S. National Tennis Center is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
