Women's Basketball Returns to Winning Ways, Defense Limits CCNY to 12 Field Goals in 71-37 Victory

The women’s basketball team limited the Beavers from the City College of New York to only 21 percent shooting (12-56) en route to a 71-37 road victory on Wednesday night in conference play.

With tonight’s victory, the Bearcats stay perfect in CUNYAC with a 5-0 record and 11-4 mark overall, while CCNY drops to 2-3 in CUNYAC and 9-5 overall. 

Baruch will now prepare for a much anticipated showdown on Friday night (7:15 pm) at Lehman College (8-6, 3-1 CUNYAC) in an exciting re-match of the 2007 and 2008 CUNYAC championship games. (Live Flash Stats Available)

Kalea Davis led the visiting Bearcats again this evening with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Karlee Whipple scored 10 points to round out the double-figure scorers.

Monique Salmon had nine points, eight assists, five rebounds and two steals. Awa Diop notched eight points and rebounds each, while Christina Kelly grabbed 12 rebounds off the bench.

Anika Rivers led CCNY with 14 points and five steals.
