The women’s tennis team beat the Lightning of Lehman College, 5-4, in a CUNYAC conference match played Friday afternoon in the Bronx.
 
The Bearcats (5-3, 4-1 CUNYAC) won two doubles and three singles encounters to move into third place in the conference standings.
 
Mariam Mkrtchyan and Shalanda Graham won a tightly contested first doubles encounter, 8-6.
 
Alexandra Vamanu and Alina Bero won easily at second doubles, 8-3.

Natasha Gregorio was victorious at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-3.
 
The women’s tennis team will return to action on Tuesday, October 6, when they host a CUNYAC home match against Brooklyn College.
 
First serve at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
