Chris Beauchamp nailed a 3-pointer as the clock expired to give the men's basketball team a thrilling 68-67 victory over pre-season #5-ranked Richard Stockton College in a season-opening non-conference contest on Sunday afternoon in Pomona, New Jersey.

With three seconds left and following time outs called by both teams, George Kunkel inbounded the ball and found Beauchamp for the winning shot to begin the season on a victorious note in southern New Jersey.

The Bearcats nailed 11 total three-pointers, including seven in the first half, and received a true team effort in the scoring column with six players scoring at least nine points this afternoon.

Beauchamp led the Bearcats with 14 points (4-6 via 3fg), while Sean Loftus scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Tammer Farid had 11 points, and senior co-captain George Kunkel recorded a double-double with 10 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists.
