The women's tennis team put up a strong effort, but narrowly lost to rival Hunter College Hawks, 5-3, in a CUNYAC Championship semifinal match played on Sunday afternoon at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.

The match started with the Bearcats losing two of three doubles for the early 2-1 score disadvantage. That forced the team into needing to win four of the six singles to win the playoff match.

During singles, the Bearcats won two of the first three singles finished to tie the match at 3-all. However, Hunter pulled out the victory by winning the next two singles for the 5-3 final score.

Per postseason rules, the match finished as soon as Hunter scored the fifth point.
