Women's Volleyball Goes Undefeated at Ramapo Quad, Win Streak Reaches Eight

The women's volleyball team recorded three impressive sweeps on Saturday at the Ramapo College Quad in Mahwah, New Jersey.

The Bearcats defeated Manhattanville (25-10, 25-14, 25-16), Rutgers-Newark (25-18, 25-13, 25-16), and Ramapo (25-12, 25-20, 25-20) to increase their overall season record to 9-4.

The team has now won eight matches in a row, which have all come via 3-0 sweeps.

Against Ramapo,
Rebecca Peralta led the attack with 12 kills (.440) and 10 digs. Lauren Hayden (11 kills, .400) and Michelle Stommes (10 kills, .400) also reached double-figure in kills, while Melinda Santiago dished out 37 assists. Amy Sung led the team defensively with 13 digs.

Against Rutgers-Newark,
McKenzie Davidson notched 10 kills hitting .450. Stommes (8 kills), Peralta (8 kills), and Hayden (7 kills) also contributed to the successful attack. Sung came up big again with 20 digs.

Against Manhattanville, Stommes totaled 13 kills hitting .435. Hayden had 11 kills hitting. 625 and
Ariel Edwards totaled a career-high 8 kills hitting a solid .800. Santiago dished out 14 assists and Crystle Dela Cruz added 11 assists in the morning victory.

The women's volleyball team will return to action on Thursday, September 20, with a 6:00 pm CUNYAC road match at rival Hunter College.
