The women's tennis team defeated rival Hunter College Hawks, 5-4, in a CUNYAC contest played on Tuesday afternoon at the Billie Jean King U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
 
The Bearcats started with losses in two of the three doubles, but bounced back in singles by winning four of the six to squeeze out a 5-4 victory.

The victory over their rival, based on available information, is the first against Hunter in women's tennis since 1997. The Bearcats also jump into third place in the current conference standings.

Allie Jackson-Hing was victorious again in first singles with a 6-0, 6-0 score. Amandine Le Goupil-Maier won at second singles, 6-3, 6-1.

Jessica Duleba earned the team's fifth and deciding point in her fifth singles encounter with a 6-4, 6-2 score to wrap up the victory.

The women's tennis team will return to action on Friday, October 11, with a CUNYAC contest at CCNY. First serve at Crotona Park Courts is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
