The women's tennis team rallied to defeat the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 6-3, in a CUNYAC contest played on Friday afternoon at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

The Bearcats lost two of the three doubles to start the match trailing, 2-1, but bounced back in the singles by winning five of the six contests to walk away with the home victory.

Allie Jackson-Hing (#1, 6-0, 6-2) and Hayley Bester (#2, 6-0, 6-0) each recorded convincing wins at the first two singles. Dzhessika Bishenkevich (#4, 6-2, 6-1), Jessica Zukhovich (#5, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4) and Helen Lee (#6-1, 6-2) rounded out the singles victories to clinch the win.

The Bearcats won their lone doubles contest at second flight behind the solid efforts of Lee and Diana Fedorkova winning, 8-2.

The Bearcats will return to play Saturday with a 12:00 pm home contest at the U.S. National Tennis Center against SUNY-Oneonta.
