Men's Volleyball Starts CUNYAC Schedule With Two Wins

The
No. 10-ranked men's volleyball team won their two matches on Saturday at the first CUNYAC Multi-Match of the season hosted by John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.

The Bearcats (4-1) started play against the first-year volleyball program from the College of Staten Island and recorded a sweep with scores of 25-14, 25-6, 25-10.


Brady Ambro powered the team with nine kiills, hitting .818, to go along with five blocks. Nick Smith had seven kills, hitting .417, with two blocks in the morning match.

In the afternoon contest, the Bearcats swept the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College with scores of 25-3, 25-6, 25-4 to start the conference schedule with a 2-0 record.

Ambro (8 kills, .857) and Smith (7 kills, .385, six aces) led the attack again, while
Scott Standring (nine aces) and Jacob Mareschal Rudin (six aces) had a big match serving. 

The men's volleyball team will return to action later this week with their first two home events of the season in the ARC Arena. They play York College on Wednesday and No. 6 ranked Kean University on Thursday. Each match will begin at 7:30 pm.
