Men's Soccer Starts Season on Winning Note, Shutout Farmingdale State (2-0)

The men's soccer team started their 2015 schedule on a winning note with a 2-0 win over the Rams of Farmingdale State College on Wednesday night at Randall's Island Field #10.

The Bearcats scored their two goals in the first half and kept the visitors under control defensively led by goalkeeper
Xavier Carrillo with three saves.

Myles Bent scored the team's opening goal of the season with a penalty kick in the 19th minute.

Oshae Miller increased the lead to two goals in the 36th minute by intercepting a back pass from a defender and easily beating the charging goalkeeper one-on-one for his first intercollegiate goal.

The Bearcats finished with nine shots, compared to eight from the visitors who compete in the Skyline Conference.

The team will next travel South during the upcoming Labor Day Weekend for a pair of matches in Maryland, starting first on Saturday at 4:00 pm against Stevenson University in Stevenson, Maryland.
