Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bearcats Strike Early, Shutout Lehman 3-0

The men's soccer team exploded early with two goals and finished with a 3-0 shutout versus Lehman College to earn their first conference win of the regular season on Wednesday night at Randall's Island.

Rookie
Oshae Miller was pivotal in the early scoring for a 2-0 lead. He started by assisting on Diego Alvarado's goal on a through ball in the fourth minute and sending a cross into the box in the seventh minute that Edward Humphreys deflected into the back of the net for the 2-0 lead.

Those early goals gave the Bearcats all the momentum the rest of the match and they fended off a brief second half rally to score by Lehman for the victory.

Miller sealed the win on his own in the 72nd minute by out-running a backline defender to the ball and beating the goalkeeper one-on-one to increase the score to 3-0. The rookie finished the evening with two assists and one goal.

Xavier Carrillo
finished with four saves for his second career shutout, which included a pair of important second half stops on point-blank shots to preserve the shutout.

The Bearcats will continue their CUNYAC schedule on Saturday morning against John Jay College of Criminal Justice. The match will kick off at 10:00 am at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.
