Bearcats Shutdown John Jay (5-1)

Edward Humphreys scored two goals and Justin Starrantino had two assists to lead the Bearcats to a 5-1 home rout over the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Saturday morning at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.

Humphries started the scoring in the 10th minute off double assists from
Myles Bent and William Rosales.

The visiting Bloodhounds tied the match three minutes later, but the Bearcats would enter the half leading 2-1 after
Rashid Allah Morad scored on a Stanley Goldberg cross into the box.

The Bearcats controlled the momentum in the second half and a second goal by Humphries ('47), followed by strikes by
Oshae Miller (63) and Constantinos Meleties (87) helped the team record the 5-1 victory.

Xavier Carrillo finished with two saves as the Bearcats improve to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the CUNYAC Standings as the regular season reaches the midway point.

The Bearcats will continue CUNYAC play on Wednesday night at 8:00 pm with a road match at the Aviator Complex in Brooklyn, New York against Medgar Evers College.
