CUNYAC WTennis QF: Baruch 5, Hunter 0; Bearcats Advance to Semifinal vs Brooklyn

FULL RESULTS

The women's tennis team defeated their rival Hunter College Hawks, 5-0, in a CUNYAC Tournament quarterfinal round contest on Sunday morning at Fordham University Tennis Courts in the Bronx, New York.

With the result, the Bearcats advance to the semifinal round on Friday, October 27, at 5:30 p.m. against second-seed Brooklyn College Bulldogs at the Billie Jean King U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.

The Hawks finish their fall schedule with a 2-10 record.

The Bearcats won all three doubles and clinched the win with victories in second and third singles for the 5-0 shutout. Per postseason rules, the match was halted upon the winning team earning the fifth point.

Grace Graham clinched the playoff match after winning 6-0, 6-0 in second singles.

"It was a great team effort today for the win," said Head Coach Gregory Wyzykowski. "We will now look to carry our momentum into the semifinal round."

CUNYAC will make the location/time decision on Sunday morning 11am to allow everyone time to plan.
