Sameera Ahmed of the women's basketball team and Steven Lopez of the men's volleyball team are this year's recipients of the Burt Beagle Loyalty Awards.

Burt Beagle was a Baruch alum who helped start the baseball team in the late 1960s. He also served as Baruch's basketball statistician working every single men's basketball home/away games starting in 1969 through the beginning of the 2006-07 season as part of an incredible 27-year run of 930 straight games worked. 

Beagle's exceptional loyalty is fondly remembered by many student-athletes from his years of service.

Burt passed away in 2007, but to this day his memory and loyalty live on in this award that is given every May to a Baruch male and female student-athlete that exemplifies his spirit and loyalty.

Sameera Ahmed played two years for the Bearcats during 2017-18 and 2019-20. She worked hard every day to get back on the court and helped the women's basketball team to an outstanding 2019-20 season with 14 wins, which was a six-win improvement over the previous season.

Steven Lopez is a four-year men's volleyball player who always put the team first and consistently displayed loyalty. He helped the team to the CUNYAC Championship and NCAA berth in 2019. He was a consistent performer who won 55 team matches during his playing career.
