Women's Basketball Awards: Nia Dawson Named MVP, Milly Ye Earns Coaches Award

Women's Basketball Head Coach Michael Kotrozos has announced his team's individual awards.

Sophomore Nia Dawson was named the MVP, while sophomore Milly Ye earned the Coaches Award.

Dawson had a break-out season averaging 17.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.7 steals, while recording six doubles-doubles in 23 games. She was voted a CUNYAC First Team All-Star and also Third Team Division III Met Basketball Writers Association All-Star. Off the court, the Communications major excelled in the classroom being named to the 2019 Fall Semester Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll.

Ye was a pivotal player averaging 18.1 minutes off the bench this past season with an average of 5.4 points in 25 games. During a six-game stretch from January 22 to February 6, she averaged 12.3 pointsnduring the hardest part of the schedule. The Marketing major also helped the Bearcats raise their win total from eight wins last season to 14 this year.
