Men's Soccer Defeats CCNY in Semifinal, Play Lehman Next Saturday for CUNYAC Title

A goal with three minutes remaining by Nicholas Bilotti helped lift the Bearcats to a 1-0 CUNYAC semifinal home win against the Beavers of CCNY on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island Field #10.

The scoring play started on a free kick by Alex Ferrara that curled into the box and went from Jaedon Seneca to John Ananoria to the feet of Bilotti who knocked in the only goal of today's match, which was in contrast to the last time these two teams played when they combined for 10 goals.

The Bearcats started slow and did not register any shots in the first half while CCNY had six. CCNY also attempted the first two shots in the second half before Ammar Ahmedshaker attempted the first Bearcats' shot in the 54th minute.

CCNY out-shot the Beavers, 17-5, but despite the advantage, the Bearcats scored the only goal to advance to the CUNYAC Championship for the first time since 2018.

Kellen Sela recorded his third shutout of the season with several big saves to keep the Beavers out of the net.

The Bearcats will play Lehman College next Saturday, November 6, at 4:30 p.m., at the Brooklyn College soccer field.
