Women's Basketball Finishes Trip Up North with 1-1 Record

The women's basketball team finished their weekend road trip up north with a 1-1 record.

The Bearcats won their first contest at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Friday but today fell to SUNY Cobleskill 83-54 to go to a 4-2 record with their current schedule.

Cobleskill broke open the non-conference contest in the third period out-scoring the Bearcats 27-13 to lead 66-44.

The Bearcats kept battling to get back into the contest, but couldn't overcome the deficit or rebounding disadvantage (65-31).

Mia Castillo led the way this afternoon with season-highs of 25 points and six steals.

Elissa Leung scored 15 points and Shantera Grant scored a career-high seven points.

Annie Canales was tops for the home team in upstate New York with 18 points (5-8 3fg).
