The women's tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over the York College Cardinals in a CUNYAC matchup on Tuesday afternoon in Jamaica, NY.
The Bearcats started strong, sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening team point. Aishika Yadav, the CUNYAC Honorable Mention Player of the Week, teamed with Maria Calvo Prado for a 6-0 win at first doubles, while Margaret Kensinger and Malika Khaknazarova cruised to a 6-0 win at third doubles.
Yadav continued her stellar play in singles, winning convincingly at the top spot, 6-0, 6-0. Lucia Herranz Sanchez also earned a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles, while Doyeong Lee battled through a competitive 6-1, 6-3 triumph at fourth singles.
With the win, Baruch improves to 3-0 in CUNYAC play. The Bearcats return to action on Thursday with a non-conference home match against Purchase College at the Billie Jean King U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
