The men's volleyball team fell in straight sets (16–25, 17–25, 17–25) to No. 14 SUNY New Paltz on Tuesday night at the ARC Arena.
The visiting Hawks recorded 36 kills while hitting .483 in the victory. The Bearcats finished with 23 kills and a .087 hitting percentage.
Peter Gavroff once again led the Bearcats offensively, posting eight kills while adding two service aces and four digs. Rookie Benjamin Nirenstein contributed five kills and two blocks. Ari Osmanaj paced the offense with 13 assists, and Valentin Rodriguez added nine assists.
SUNY New Paltz was led by Matt Teplansky, who posted eight kills on .417 hitting, while Daniel Shanley orchestrated the attack with 30 assists.
The Bearcats will take a brief break in their schedule before returning to action for their CUNYAC opener at York College on Tuesday, February 10. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
