Women’s Volleyball player Jessica Wu has been named the Baruch Athlete of the Month for October 2012.

Wu had a dominant October that helped lead the Bearcats to the CUNYAC Regular Season Championship. She continued her stellar play into the CUNYAC Tournament Championship and was named MVP.

This is the second time she has been named Athlete of the Month. She was previously honored in September 2011.

*Notched 13 kills and 15 digs in a road win at Montclair state (10/2)

*Tallied 17 kills and 17 digs in a home win versus Plattsburgh State. Later in the day, she picked up 10 kills and 12 digs in a home win versus Medaille (10/6)

*Totaled 12 kills in a CUNYAC multi-match home win versus Lehman (10/8)

*Notched 12 kills and 10 digs against Kean (10/16) and followed that up with 12 kills versus NYU (10/24).

*Totaled 13 kills and nine digs in a tough loss to SUNY New-Paltz (10/26).

*Her finest match of the month was 20 kills and 14 digs in the CUNYAC Championship victory versus Hunter College (11/2). For her efforts, she was named CUNYAC tournament MVP and a CUNYAC First-Team All-Star.

*For the month of October, Wu totaled 163 kills and 148 digs to go along with a .284 hitting percentage.
