The #15 men’s volleyball team is off to a successful start in conference play following sweeps  at the CUNYAC multi-match on Saturday against Lehman College (30-14, 30-15, 30-20), Medgar Evers College (30-10, 30-10, 30-9), and the event host York College (30-16, 30-20, 30-23).

The three victories boost the team’s conference record to 4-0 and 13-4 overall on the current regular season.

Against Lehman, Matt McKee led the Bearcats with 11 kills and five blocks. Radu Wyrwas had a solid all-around match with 32 assists, eight kills and nine digs.

Ratmir Gorelik contributed 10 digs and Kirill Yagnetinskiy had four blocks.

Against Medgar Evers, the team rolled to an easy three set victory. McKee led with 11 kills again, while Boris Svirsky recorded seven kills and digs each. Wyrwas finished with eight kills and nine digs.

In their final match, the Bearcats completed the day with another three set sweep against York College.

Wyrwas led the way again with 10 kills, 18 assists, 13 digs and three blocks. Gabriel Rivera recorded seven digs.

The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday with a 5:30 pm home match in the ARC Arena against the New York City College of Technology.
