The men’s soccer team broke open a scoreless match late with four goals in the final 30 minutes to defeat rival Hunter College, 4-0, on Wednesday evening at field #10 on Randall’s Island.

Freddy Carrasco-Dance scored his fifth goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute to open the scoring.

Stefan Cocea scored his first collegiate goal on a header in the 70th minute via a well placed corner kick by Boris Lipsman for the 2-0 advantage.

Vincent Cruz finished with two late goals to close out the emphatic 4-0 victory in the conference opening match for both teams this evening.

Nelson DiBastiano posted his first shutout of the year with three saves.

Overall, the match featured 10 yellow cards, one red card, and 34 total fouls.

The Bearcats improve to 1-2-1 overall and 1-0 in CUNYAC, while Hunter remains winless at 0-4-1 and 0-1 in CUNYAC.

The men’s soccer team will return to action on Saturday night with a 7:00 pm non-conference match against NYU.

Please note NYU will host this match at Gaelic Park (take #1 subway to 238th Street) on the campus of Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York.
