The men’s basketball team won a tough 69-68 CUNYAC road contest at Lehman College on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.

Tammer Farid connected on a 3-pointer as the clock expired to lift the Bearcats to a come-from-behind victory to improve to 19-6 overall and 11-2 in CUNYAC. Lehman falls to 8-16 overall and 5-7 in CUNYAC.

The Bearcats trailed throughout most of the game, including 68-64 with 24 seconds left, but shocked the Lightning by scoring the final five points.

Lionel Hilaire started the rally to stun Lehman on Senior Day by connecting on a driving layup to cut the deficit to two points (68-66) with 12 seconds left.

On Lehman's next possession with six seconds left, they had a chance to build on their lead with a 1-on-1 free throw opportunity, but missed as the Bearcats quickly rebounded and went down the court for the winning trey by Farid.

Sean Loftus and Farid
(4-7 3fg) led the balanced scoring attack with 14 points each, while George Kunkel had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Arki Wisnu recorded the winning assist to Farid and finished with 10 total points.

Daniel Perry led Lehman with 18 points and six rebounds.

The men's basketball team will return to action next Saturday, February 20, with a CUNYAC Tournament home quarterfinal contest against an opponent and time to be announced.
