The men’s basketball team defeated the Lightning of Lehman College, 64-50, in a CUNYAC home contest played on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

Junior guard
Chris Beauchamp was named the John Conboy Memorial Game MVP, which is awarded each year during the second regular season men’s basketball meeting between the two schools. Conboy played three years for Baruch and one year for Lehman during the early part of the 1970s. He is still fondly remembered by alumni and friends of the two schools.

Beauchamp led the Bearcats in the victory with 16 points and six rebounds. In addition, he also scored his 1,000th career point to become the 19th men's player in team history and fourth in the past two years to reach that special point milestone in a Baruch uniform.

Tammer Farid also had a solid game with 15 points, while Mickey Abbatiello scored eight points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists. Justin Giryluk totaled six points and four rebounds in 15 minutes of action.

Stanley Stephens came off the bench to lead Lehman (11-12, 5-6 CUNYAC) with 11 points (5-7 fg).

The men’s basketball team will return to action on Monday, February 7th, with a 7:00 pm CUNYAC road contest at the City College of New York. To follow the action via live stats, CLICK HERE.
