The #13-ranked men’s volleyball team lost in three sets to #1-ranked and top seed Springfield College Pride in a NCAA Div. III Championship quarterfinal round match played on Friday afternoon in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Pride won with scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-17 to raise their record to 31-5, while the Bearcats season comes to an end with a 24-17 record.

"I think Springfield played excellent, they competed well, and I wish them the best of luck in the rest of the tournament," said Head Coach Allison Stack. "As far as we played, I think we played alright. Fortunately, we lose only two seniors and all other underclassmen are coming back, so we look forward to next year."

The Pride controlled the action from the opening serve by totaling 53 kills hitting .537, while the visiting Bearcats recorded 24 kills hitting .103.

Jack McKee and Steven Coniglio (.667) notched nine kills each, while Danny Olson dished out 23 assists.

Mike Pelletier led the Pride with 13 kills hitting .409.

Despite the loss, the Bearcats had an outstanding year winning the CUNYAC Tournament Championship, staying nationally-ranked all season, and earning valuable experience with a roster of mostly underclassmen to play in the inaugural NCAA Tournament.

The future for Baruch College men’s volleyball is bright and congratulations to the entire program for all their hard work and success.
