Box Score

Jack McKee recorded his fifth straight match with at least 15 kills to help the visiting Bearcats overcome a first set loss for a four set CUNYAC victory against York College on Wednesday night in Jamaica, New York.

The Cardinals, who played the Bearcats tough in last year's CUNYAC Championship, promoted the game as a re-match and came out strong with a 25-21 opening set victory in front of their home crowd.

The Bearcats regrouped hitting .350 in the second set (25-17) and .368 in the third (25-11) to take the lead.

York jumped out to a 4-1 advantage early in the fourth set, but the Bearcats took control to walk off before the snow started with a hard fought 25-22 victory and 3-1 final score.

McKee finished hitting .353 with 15 kills, seven blocks and five digs.
Chris Kaimis was busy with nine kills and digs each, while Brian Coniglio dished out 26 assists in the comeback victory.

The Bearcats totaled 40 kills hitting .261 to improve to 7-1 and 3-0 in the CUNYAC.

The Cardinals struggled with 34 kills hitting a negative .009, and were led by Bryan Williams with 11 kills, six aces and five digs.

The Bearcats will now rest up and prepare next week for a rough stretch of their schedule with a CUNYAC road match at rival Hunter College on February 20, followed by their own Baruch Invitational on February 21-22 against #5 Nazareth, #10 Elmira, #14 Stevenson and Emmanuel.
